The amount and number is
determined by the Committee and based on the earnings of the Walter G.
Fortnum, Jr. Scholarship Fund.
Any person who is an
active member of a State, County, Municipal, Community, Industrial, or
Federal Fire Department located within the State of New Jersey and who has
demonstrated proficiency as a member and any member of the New Jersey State
Fire Chiefs’ Association or their immediate families (including
Grandchildren), is eligible to apply for a scholarship
How to Apply
Applicants must complete
all sections of the Application. In addition, attach a statement of at
least 250 words stating why you are applying for financial assistance and
why you believe this course or degree will be useful to you as a firefighter
or a fire officer.
In evaluating the
applications, preference will be given to those demonstrating need, desire,
and initiative. Credits previously attained in college level course should
be listed, and a transcript furnished, if possible.
Application Deadline
Applications and supporting
information must be submitted no later than June 1st to:
